KOXM Episode 193
We're mourning the loss of Dan this week, as he's moving to Los Angeles to work for Activision as "their Major Nelson." Yes, that means it's his last show ever, so we goof on him, surprise him with a phone call from an old friend, and even try to make him cry. Sure, there's some other usual show stuff in there too, but this week it's all about giving a proper sendoff to our old friend. Tune in for an episode of KOXM unlike any other.

December 4th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
And so close to 200!!!
December 4th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
So Dan will hang out at the Evil’s lair now? Well, good luck to him on moving there and don’t forget to ask Mr. Kotick’s blessing! LOL! We’ll miss u El Dan!

The dynamic duo is no more. Who will we stick it to now? Who will provide the sweet music at the end of the podcast? Who will be our Ghostbuster fanboy? In the words of Darth Vader, “Nooooooooooooo!”
Good luck at Activision Dan, we will miss you so very much!

A reason to not hate Activision
December 4th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
LEAVING!? Your not allowed to leave Dan… I refuse to accept this! The show just won’t be the same without the both of you together!
Maybe Activision can higher Ryan also.
December 4th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
Damn
So is KOXM over? Or is Ryan and Super Producer doing it now?
December 4th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Damn… I saw Dan was leaving when I was checking out Gamesradar. I was wondering if Dan was going to leave this podcast now. Oh well. Personally, I enjoy listening to Dan and Ryan, so it’s a bummer to see that he will be leaving.
Good luck Dan. Southern California can be good times though.
Dan of the People! There’s a Dan for that! Dan the Man!
December 5th, 2009 at 12:11 am
Oh, man! We’ll all miss ya Damrich, good luck slaving away in the Activision salt mines. The end of an era to be sure.
Ryan, until you find a Dan replacement (RoboDan, maybe?) maybe you should get one of the TalkRadar hosts to fill in. And if you (gasp) decide to end things, I’m sure the crazed lunatics over at Radar will have a mic with your name on it.

Dang, Dan is leaving…. Well, I’m really going to miss the Stick ‘it to The Dan segment. It just won’t be the same without him. Dan, I wish you the best of luck on your future endevors. Ryan, stay strong and keep the podcast going! I have faith in you. Two brilliant minds, Ryan M. and Andy B. together, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!
December 5th, 2009 at 8:56 am
Dan, if you ever get the chance try to stop by for for a big show like 200 or 250. Maybe someday you can stop by as a guest from Activision. Either way the best of luck at your new place and you will be greatly missed.

Couldn’t Dan do the podcast over Skype or something. I don’t think Andy is in the same room as them when they record, but he still talks. So couldn’t Dan do something like that too? Or would he be too busy to record the podcast because of his new job?
December 5th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
Activision? Really? That’s pretty crappy. Is there anyone at OXM that doesn’t leave for money anymore?
December 5th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
Hey Dan. Not sure if you read these… but do you have a twitter or a way we can follow you? That way we know when the new podcast will be up
So I can listen to both!
December 6th, 2009 at 8:07 am
Dan’s twitter is simply @danamrich
December 6th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
:( It made me really sad when I listened to your podcast and realized that Dan would be gone as a regular co-host for good. I’m sure the podcast will find a way to compensate for the loss of talent. Maybe we’ll get to hear “Stick it to Todd Howard” more often. Hopefully we’ll still see Dan on Inside Xbox, the 200 ep. , and the new podcast! Good luck Dan!
December 6th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
No…no…NOOOOOOOOOOO. Well uh I guess I’ll stick around for the next ep to see how it is…. first Garnett Lee leaves Listen 1UP and now this *sob*
December 7th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Keep it up Ryan! We need you now, more than ever!
December 7th, 2009 at 3:35 pm
I have been listening since the show was in its teens. Dan and Ryan are a great team, and I am sorry to see Dan go. As much as I love KOXM, I can tell that Ryan would like to end the podcast. Take it to 200, bring Dan back as a special guest, and put this beautiful beast down. As a long time listener, I can honestly say, I would be happy with that.
December 7th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
i’ve been listening in since episode 47, not sure but i think thats when dan first appeared. all things come an end at some point. and yet again dan sells his soul, i will miss the podcast as it use to be with his chameleon eyes, good luck to you with the new job dan, no i hope you fail and come back.
hey get fran to come on the show more often, i would love to play and i dare say “stick it to the fran”.
oh and ryan… your audience is still here.
December 8th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
you will be missd dan I hope you might be able to be a regular guest as Activitions “major nelson”
December 8th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
i dont want u guys to stop the podcast! this is THE ONLY podcast out there that i can stand to listen to. i am sure u guys can find a way to figure it out. u need to. look at acdc when bon scott died they did not say o F-it and stop making music they reached there peak after he died the there best selling album Back in Black. so keep doing the podcast and i hope u don’t shut it down.

I’m so sad to see dan go. I’m a long time listener and only recently got a good internet connection after moving, and I was really looking forward to listening again. But, I guess all good things must come to an end. Still, you’ve gotta carry on Ryan, one way or another. I’m not able to subscribe to your awesome mag anymore cos as Dan put it, you’re asking for trouble with international subscribtions, so this is the only way I can experience the awesomeness of what’s to me, ther REAL OXM, not the over-expensive mag they sell under the same name on these shores! You guys, rock, keep the flame burning!
December 10th, 2009 at 9:16 am
Good luck Dan! Keep an eye on Bobby to not oversaturate Guitar Hero and other exploitable franchises. (you can still keep on working with the other eye). jk! But seriously, have a great career as PR/Journalist!

Yeah that is really bad that Dan’s going…. still.. was wondering what the name of the tune was that plays at the end of the episode?
