KOXM Episode 173
We grant a crazy fan's wish this week -- since Ryan is away on special assignment, we had Stick It to the Dan winner David Schulman join us for the whole show, thereby setting a terrifying precedent. He tries to go double-or-nothing on the segment a second time, but also hangs out to discuss BioShock 2's delay, Modern Warfare 2's title shenanigans, and sift through the KOXM Mailbag. It may not be funny, but that least it's excruciatingly long!

Good job on letting a fan be on the show, and yes it sets a scary precedent but it works well for your PR.

Couldn’t download it off the feed in my portable player and can’t download it from the site. Just get a html-document, not the actual show.

Couldn’t download it from Itunes either, had to modify the link given for the last two episodes to get it. Used this link: http://dl.oxmonline.com/oxmp_173_20090716.mp3

Couldn’t download off Itunes and can’t download off site either this is getting very annoying. Managed to get 172 but cannot get 171 or now 173.

Maybe the reason why some people can’t download it is because you are trying to download it the same way you did it on the other site. Instead of right-clicking and save-as, do a left-click on the download link. That will take you to a new page. Do a right-click save as on that button. =)

one more than possible reason for Bioshock 2’s delay would be one of 2k’s newest IPs Borderlands, they have been building hype for this game (with good reason its looking pretty awesome) and 2ks probably looking at Bioshock 2 and Borderlands and thinking hey releasing 2 games in the same time frame might be a bad idea as this would hurt the 2 games sales tremendously (think if microsoft released a new halo and gears of war at the same time), most people cant afford more than one game at a time so while borderlands is going to be good maybe even get nominated for game of the year, its a new IP nonetheless and a lot of people are going going to just buy the sequel to a game they loved and not risk buying a game that is newer. That MIGHT be the reason behind 2K’s logic for they delay, and Id Hate to think that one of these 2 games did badly in sales because they released 2 at once, and this way people can buy Borderlands and then when Bioshock 2 comes out those same people who bought Borderlands will Buy Bioshock 2. But thats just a posibility, also ILOVE YOU GUYS!, (ahem) That is all.

haha Dave did a great job! I wouldn’t mind seeing (or hearing) him again on the podcast.
July 19th, 2009 at 11:22 am
The doc was awesome indeed, he really knew his shizzle. Try to get him on the next time someone is away, too!
July 19th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
I didn’t have a problem with getting the podcast, so hopefully everything is fixed.
Doc Dave was pretty damn good. Very impressive. I was a little worried when I checked out the description for this weeks podcast, but it was great. If Doc Dave is available and willing, you should get him again when Dan is out. I’d dig listening to him and Ryan together.
Just curious, does Dave do his own podcast or show? I’d be interested in listening if he did a medical show or something.
